Chair of Litigation Department - Jones, Foster, Johnston & Stubbs
Robert W. Wilkins is the Chair of the Litigation Department of Jones, Foster, Johnston & Stubbs. He is Board Certified by The Florida Bar in both Business Litigation and Civil Trial Law. He has over 30 years’ experience as a trial lawyer in both federal and state courts representing a broad spectrum of clients from individuals to multi-national corporations. He is experienced in e-Discovery and data privacy law, including the ethical responsibilities of lawyers to be competent in the related technology. He is a proponent of the use of technology in the courtroom.
He is currently Co-Chair of the Data Privacy and the Internet subcommittee of the ABA Section of Litigation’s Commercial and Business Litigation Committee and an active member of its e-Discovery and Internet Litigation subcommittee. He is an active member of the ABA Science and Technology Law Section’s Internet of Things Committee. Additionally, he is a member of Working Groups 1 and 11 of The Sedona Conference.
He has spoken nationally on numerous e-Discovery related topics including the ethical obligations of attorneys relating to metadata; managing e-Discovery as a small firm or solo practitioner; the impact of the changes to the federal rules of civil procedure, and similar topics.
He served for five years on The Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization and Education, including as its Vice-Chair. He also served for six years on the Business Litigation Certification Committee, including as its Chair. He is the past Chair of the Technology Committee of the Palm Beach County Bar Association and currently serves on its Technology Committee and Business Litigation Committee. He is admitted to practice in Florida and New York and the Southern District of Florida.
