Bobby Malhotra

Bobby Malhotra is a litigation partner at Winston & Strawn. His practice focuses on navigating complex eDiscovery issues in high-stakes litigation and investigations using his combination of both technical knowledge and legal experience. He regularly advises clients on matters related to eDiscovery preparedness and planning and execution, as well as information privacy and data security. Mr. Malhotra’s extensive experience includes counseling the firm’s financial institution clients on the unique eDiscovery challenges they face in high-exposure matters arising out of the 2008 financial crisis. He also serves as a trusted eDiscovery advisor to some of the firm’s largest financial and technology sector clients. In this role, he provides counseling and guidance in connection with legally defensible and standardized company-wide discovery practices. Prior to joining Munger Tolles, Mr. Malhotra worked as a senior discovery consultant for multiple top-tier eDiscovery service providers. He also has nearly five years of experience in network engineering, technology consulting and computer programming.  A true “techno lawyer,” Mr. Malhotra’s technology experience dates back to his first job in college building and configuring Novell NetWare and Windows NT application and file servers. Mr. Malhotra is a nationally recognized thought leader, speaker and author on eDiscovery, artificial intelligence and information governance issues. He was nominated for Relativity’s AI catalyst award in 2021, and in 2022 Relativity named him an AI visionary for spearheading the adoption of artificial intelligence in legal practice. He is admitted to the California and Illinois bars.
